Early Morning Day 3

This little girl with the disdainful look on her face was wandering around semi alone in a field at Rancho San Rafael over the weekend. I am not big on taking candid photos as I, personally, feel a bit creepy doing it, but I thought I might as well try it and I ended up getting a few good shots.

I like how the grass takes up the entire frame, it makes it appear like she is a small girl stuck in a big world. The position looks almost posed- moving forward, yet hesitant to do so. Sort of wandering, lost, unsure. Her hand to the side, as if there's supposed to be someone holding it- but they are not. Or, she is being led by something unseen.
The whole frame is fuzzy except for the girl and the area directly around her- like all she realizes and understands is that which is within arms reach.

Nice candid. The creepy feeling may be worth it.

Good lighting... I like how the center light encases her and its darker around the edges of the photo. I enjoy the fact that you can't see anything beyond the grass, in the photo. It looks like an environment uninhibited by society, except for this one small child.

If you get too famous though, you'll have to do release forms so some strange mother doesn't freak out when she sees her daughter in a photo like this. =)
