This still doesn't quite look desolate enough for me. I do enjoy the nice extra bit of fuzziness in the mountains from the smoke Reno has been engulfed in lately.

Lost in the color
Here is a second picture taken of our smoke induced sunsets. I chose to place myself in it this time just to see how it would turn out. The only problem I really had was a bit of shakiness. I am standing on a somewhat used overpass and as cars would go by it would shake the whole thing just a tiny bit. In the end I was able to catch some amazing colors without too much editing. I am, however deeply considering taking out the power lines running through the background. They bother me.

Setting Sun
This is the setting sun over the mountains here. Reno is currently totally covered with smoke from more than 800 separate fires from Northern Nevada and California. This was taken on the first day that all of the smoke was visible, thus allowing me to capture these colors. We are currently on day four or five and the setting sun is totally masked by smoke now...

Under the Arch
This is Johnny, he plays the geetar, rather well in my opinion. We took this picture under the Reno Arch, as you can see, it took a couple of tries as we were both dodging cars in the process. If I could redo this set up I would have done it at night and allowed for a time lapse so I could get the cars streaking by as opposed to stopped.

Into the Sun
A Reno walkway at night. This leads up and over I-80. Origionally I had intended on shooting the sunset from a different vantage point, that didnt work out. It just so happened that the clouds were really thick there and I didnt get much color from it. So then I shifted focus and tried to take some other pictures before I lost all light.
I, personally, don't know how much I love this image. I think it was the best of the night, I am hoping it just grows on me.

Red, Red Rose
This is not my first attempt at shooting staged flowers, though I don't spend much time on it. I, personally, really enjoy this picture even though I see it as fairly unoriginal.
I did two versions of this, a vertical and a horizontal, I was surprised as to how much different they seem to look when compared. I also feel that if I had a more interesting background I might enjoy this picture more.
I would like to take what I have and bring it to a level like this picture linked here from Flickr

Gallery Added
Well, I did not manage to get a new picture up but I did finish my gallery page.
Take a look to your left and you should see a link leading you there. Please let me know if things look out of place or if they do not work, I have had a very limited amount of time to test this before I put it up.
I hope to add more gallery pages in the future, now that the first is built everything after should come easier.
Photo Delay
Hello All,
If anyone is wondering why I have not posted in several days it is because my computer had a massive failure and I had to reformat it.
With this I lost a lot of info, nothing too important, but I have been spending my time bringing myself back up to speed.
I will hopefully resume tonight or tomorrow.
Thanks,
Nick

Roadside Religion
Roadside Religion-
This man hangs out on Virginia street right by the train tracks and under the Reno Arch. You can generally catch him yelling at people to repent with his homeless sidekick telling him to be more subtle.
After debating whether or not the cloud above was moving with him for a moment, I asked if I could take his picture, he agreed as long as he could pray for me. Apparently right after the prayer my eyes changed color... The Reno homeless people are always so interesting.
Anyways I have found I get better pictures by asking the people rather than waiting around for them to do something cool enough to take a picture of.

Junk Yard
This, right here, is a different style of photography that I have been trying to emulate from the few examples that I have seen. I know there is and must be a professional photographer who does this out there but I have yet to find them. I encourage you to click on the image and see the full version as it reveals a little more about the picture.
No, this image is not meant to have all of the lines line up and the colors match, that is what gives it its charm... I think. This style is done by finding a subject and zooming in as far as you can and then start snapping. The real key is to not miss any spots... which I may or may not have done...

Early Morning Day 3
Day of the Second
Hmmm... I have finally gotten some of the design nailed down for the time being, though I am not happy with it. That means if you are coming across this page and things look out of place, please excuse my digital dust it should be fixed before too long... hopefully...
This photo is of my friend Andrew in a gas mask and was part of my final project for my Digital Photography class. Andrew is a great model as he just does his own thing and doesnt freak out like some people do when you put them in front of the camera.
The only editing that was done to this was a bit of cropping and I increased the yellow luminance so you could see the color of the car a little better.
